BRAND LAB WEEKLY ADVICE

For this week’s advice, we’re doing a Tech Check. This is all about making sure your customer’s experience is as smooth as butter. From the moment a potential customer clicks on your social media links to landing on your website, the journey should be seamless and cohesive. Here are some key things to check:

  1. Journey Mapping:

Map out the customer journey from discovery to purchase. Act as if you’re a customer who just found your Instagram and spotted a product they like. How easy is it to go from that to checking out?

  2. Confirm that your website is mobile-friendly. With a significant portion of internet users accessing sites through mobile devices, a responsive design ensures a positive experience for all users.

  3. Loading Speed:

Optimize your website's loading speed. All those pretty pictures are nice, but Slow-loading pages can lead to really high bounce rates (people saying hell nah, and leaving your site. You can test it with this site.

If any of these are lacking, get it fixed quickly! It could be what’s standing between you and the bag…

COMMUNITY NEWS

BRAND REVIEW

For our weekly Index Brand Review, we’re checking out Atelier Viridia, an emerging African label focused on sustainability and purpose!

Atelier Viridia was founded in 2022 by Nifemi Akindeji-Oladeji, a young crochet maestro. The brand focuses on selling crochet knitwear that can be worn in hotter climates. The pieces are not only made to be beautiful, colourful, and breatheable, but they can also be brought back to be deconstructed and made into new garments. Above all, they put community first, holding workshops teaching the craft to young enthusiastic creatives.

Atelier Viridia is bringing fun and finesse to a craft typically associated with an older target market. Even with this in mind, they hold their own from a branding and sales perspective, targeting middle-aged people and middle-income earners. Because of this, they’re bringing a fresh perspective to a key target audience.

  • An abundance of color and high-quality content can be found across their social pages. One step further into the Viridia world and you’ll see the love and attention paid to putting the pieces together by the founder. This can’t go unnoticed, as being part of your narrative is just as good as owning it. It also reveals the lightheartedness of the brand which is extremely magnetic.

  • What we may like to see more is the community aspect shining clear as day across some of these touchpoints. The label has a customisable and interactive element built in so it would serve as social proof to see some of that!

Thank you Atilier Viridia for your submission, and for being part of the Index community! We’re all so excited to see your journey continue.
